Deoghar, also known as Baidyanath Dham and Baba Dham, is one of the popular Hindu pilgrimage spots, which is located in Santhal Parganas division of the Jharkhand state. The destination is renowned for housing one of the twelve sacred Shiva Jyothirlingams in India. Apart from this, the destination is also popular for having Baidyanath Temple, which is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in India.
The destination is popular among devotees as well as tourists for possessing religious and mythological significance. Besides being known for its natural beauty, the destination is also popular for its plenty of tourist attractions that include temples, ashrams and other sacred places of Hindus. One of the famous tourist attractions of the destination is Baidyanath Dham. The site is famous for housing the holy temple of Baba Baidyanath with a Jyotirlingam, which is enshrined within its inner sanctum. The temple had witnessed many reconstructions in the past and was ruled by various rulers and dynasties including Guptas, Gidhaurs, Puran Mal, Man Singh and the priest Raghunath Ojha.
Dolmanch, Harila Jori, Jain Temple, Kathikund and Kundeshwari are among the most prominent sightseeing attractions of Deoghar. In addition, tourists can also make a visit to various ashrams such as Deva Sangha Math, Lila Temple, Pagla Baba Ashram, Rikhia Ashram, Satsang Nagar and Ashram. Besides these ashrams, Tapovan and Tarapeeth are other religious spots of the destination. Trikuta Parvata, Hathi Pahar and Nandan Pahar are the  hills that have many small temples located on them. Apart from being known for their religious significance, these hills are often visited by tourists and devotees for sighting  view of entire district.

Shivaganga and Mansarovar are the holy ponds located in the destination. Tourists take holy dip in the water of this pond before offering prayers to the Lords enshrined in the temples. Besides, these ponds have religious and mythological significance as it is at these sites, Ravana handed over the lingam to Lord Vishnu, disguised as a Brahmin.
